In Winter 2021, the electric company Elenia did some edge-zone-felling at Keihärinkoski. The initial plans were wild when they planned to cut down even some hundred year old yard pines. Fortunately, I was able to negotiate with them and the logging area was reduced considerably. In any case, they felled several old spruces, pines and birches.
In Summer, we then cleared their waste and at the same time made firewood from the branches of the big trees and the smaller trunks left behind.
Squirrel nest.
Cleaning the Kesäniemi forest, the tools were a machete, hedge shears...
...and a cordless saw.
The seagull babies of Kesäniemi.
The work continued in the coastal forest, also the neighbor's area was cleaned, because he didn't have time himself.
Most of the branches were chopped with a scraper and a saw, or carted to be cut into pieces with an old circular saw.
Spruce roots.
Bunches like by ants, who also built a lot of new homes from pine needles during the summer.
This rest of Spruce will stay.
The old milk cart which we renovated with old bicycle tires, was a perfect branch cart.
Ekokeko (Ecopile) and some food storage for the squirrels.
Wood shelter of Kesäniemi, most of the wood, however, went to Liisa's shelter.
Happy forest worker, Manuel Bonik.
