We made it BIRDFRIENDLY ! In spring 2023, the electricity company Elenia started clearing the coastal forest of Kesäniemi, under the high power line, even though the trees had place to grow there for several more years. I was furious because of the birds nesting in the area and luckily got the workers to stop their work. After this episode, we were offered a contract to take care of that area ourselves. We made a contract and cleared the forest at the end of summer with hedge shears, a cordless saw, and a machete. Willows remained to protect the shoreline, but trees over five meters were removed.

Lots of beautyful birds are living and breeding in that area, i am glad we could save at least the willows for them. This bird i called "Nakuttelija", because of the nak-nak-nak-sound, it was doing.

.. and the riverside, poor birches, elenia had started this part already at springtime, and we just got to finish their work till the autumn.

We did transport the wood with our boat to Liisas place, where we could work it to energywood with circular saw.
